What each tier adds
- Plus ($8): Agent with Cursor's own models at fixed settings (Fast off, medium effort, 256k context on Grok 4.7), plus Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Build and Grok API access. No Auto, Cloud Agents, Automations, Bugbot, Origin, third-party models or your own API keys.
- Premium ($30): 4× the usage, plus Cloud Agents and Automations, code hosting on Origin, Bugbot code review, third-party models at API list price, and Grok Bot.
- Super ($100): 15× Plus usage and priority model access at peak times.
- Ultra ($200): 50× Plus usage and earliest access to new products and models.
Cursor itself recommends Premium for new Agent users, Super for daily Agent users and Ultra for power users running several agents. Cursor docs (opens in a new tab)
How the weekly pool works
Each paid plan has one pool for Cursor models. It's shared across Agent in the editor, the CLI, Cloud Agents, Grok Bot and the Grok apps, and it refreshes weekly. Models draw from it at different rates. You can see what's left and the reset date in your editor settings, or under Usage at grok.com/dashboard. The Grok API is billed separately and doesn't use the pool. Cursor docs (opens in a new tab)
Rates for Cursor models when you go past the pool, per million tokens: Grok 4.7 costs $2 input and $6 output, and Composer 2.5 costs $0.50 input and $2.50 output. Fast variants and long context (over 256k on Grok 4.7) cost more.
Third-party models (Claude, GPT, Gemini)
These are never part of the included pool. On Premium and up they're available from the first request at the model's API list price, paid from prepaid credit. For example, the docs list Claude Opus 5.5 at $4 input and $20 output, and Claude Sonnet 5.5 at $2 and $10, per million tokens. Plus and Free can't use them at all. Cursor docs (opens in a new tab)
If you mainly want Claude, compare this with Claude Code on a flat Claude plan, which can also run inside Cursor: Cursor vs Claude Code.
Limits and what happens when you run out
- Wait for the weekly reset.
- Use prepaid credit: top up yourself or turn on Auto Top-up. A monthly additional-usage limit caps your paid extra usage, however much credit you hold. You manage it under Additional usage credits at grok.com/dashboard/billing.
- Upgrade for a bigger pool.
Cursor says requests are never downgraded in quality or speed when you hit the limit. Cursor docs (opens in a new tab)
Teams, Enterprise and legacy plans
On Teams, each member gets a Premium, Super or Ultra seat at the individual price, and you can mix tiers on one team. Plus isn't available for teams. On Teams and Enterprise, third-party model requests add a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens. Individual plans don't pay it. Legacy plans (Hobby, Start, Pro, Pro+, Ultra, Teams Standard and Premium seats) keep working with two monthly pools and on-demand usage. Cursor docs (opens in a new tab) Buying seats for a team? Cursor is sold as part of The X Subscription, which also includes Grok and X features, and only directly through X Subscription Corp. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge. Cursor pricing (opens in a new tab)
Which plan should you buy?
- Learning, or light use with Cursor's models: Plus ($8).
- Agent every week, want Claude or GPT sometimes: Premium ($30) plus a small prepaid balance with a monthly cap.
- Agent all day: Super ($100). Ultra if you run several agents or Automations.
- You want Claude without per-token bills: Cursor Free or Plus as the editor, plus Claude Code.

The gamer angle
Cursor is on Roblox Studio's MCP quick-connect list Roblox MCP docs (opens in a new tab), and it connects to Unity through Unity's free MCP server Unity's AI tools (unity.com) (opens in a new tab). For hobby game projects, Plus's Grok and Composer models are often a cheap start. See Roblox · Unity · Godot.
